All software code, visual design, document templates and tax rule engines powering RentalMaster are protected under intellectual property law. Data entered by users remains their sole and exclusive property.
2. Privacy Policy & Personal Data Protection (GDPR)
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act, RentalMaster processes only the data strictly required to deliver the rental management service.
Processed data & GDPR roles
For your user account data (name, email, security logs), the publisher acts as Data Controller. For landlord, property, tenant, lease, receipt and expense records stored in your workspace, you act as Data Controller toward your tenants and RentalMaster acts as technical Data Processor (GDPR Art. 28).
Purposes & Legal bases (GDPR Art. 6)
Performance of the service contract (authentication, rental and tax document generation, workspace invitations) and legitimate security interest (fraud prevention and rate limiting).
Data retention
Your data is retained while your account remains active. Deleting your account from Settings triggers an immediate, atomic purge of all account and owned-workspace records in the database.
Cookies & Trackers (ePrivacy / CNIL)
RentalMaster uses zero advertising, profiling or third-party analytics cookies. Only strictly necessary technical cookies are set: secure authentication session (HttpOnly), active workspace ID, UI locale and light/dark theme preference (exempt from consent banners under CNIL guidelines).
Exercising your GDPR rights (Art. 15–22)
You can download a full JSON export (Right to portability, Art. 20) and permanently delete your account (Right to erasure, Art. 17) directly under Settings > Privacy. For additional inquiries, contact the email above; you may also lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority (CNIL — www.cnil.fr).
3. Terms of Service (CGU)
Service scope and account access
RentalMaster provides landlords, SCIs and authorized managers with a SaaS property administration platform. Creating an account entails acceptance of these Terms and a commitment to provide accurate information.
Important notice — Software assistance & no regulated legal or tax advice
IRL rent revisions, rent control checks, charge reconciliations, security deposit settlements and tax form computations (2044, 2042, 2072-S, LMNP, IS) are provided strictly as software calculation aids. They do not constitute personalized legal advice or regulated accounting services. Users remain solely responsible for verifying all figures, supporting invoices and lease clauses prior to signing, issuing documents to tenants or filing tax returns.
Account security, workspace quotas & fair use
Users are responsible for safeguarding their credentials and managing roles granted to invited collaborators. To protect platform availability for all tenants, per-workspace quotas and request rate limits apply; abusive, unauthorized automated or unlawful usage may result in account suspension.
Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute failing amicable resolution shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent French courts.
